A Love Only Sisters Understand
There are some sessions that feel like more than just taking pictures, and this was one of those for me.
When Maria first reached out about doing photos for their mom, I instantly loved the idea. There was something so thoughtful and sweet behind it, and after meeting her and Cristina, it made even more sense. These two have such a genuine bond. The kind where you can tell they’ve been through life together, shared memories together, and can make each other laugh without even trying.
Honestly, on my way to the session I was stressed about the weather. The clouds were dark, the wind was picking up, and I kept thinking, “Please don’t rain.” But they showed up with the best attitudes and were willing to just go with it. And somehow, everything came together perfectly. The sun started peeking through the clouds, the light turned beautiful, and it ended up feeling so calm and magical.
But what really made this session special had nothing to do with the weather or the location. It was them. The way they laughed after almost every photo, the little conversations in between shots, the stories they shared — it all felt so real. It never felt forced or posed. It just felt like two sisters being themselves, and those are always my favorite kinds of sessions.
I left that evening feeling so grateful. Grateful that I got to witness such a special relationship and freeze a tiny piece of it for them to hold onto forever.
Maria and Cristina, thank you for trusting me with these memories. Your love for each other shines so naturally, and I truly loved every second of capturing it.
